dm+d | The dm+d is a dictionary of descriptions and codes which represent medicines and devices in use across the NHS. |
DN | A dispense notification (DN) is sent to the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) before claiming reimbursement. Dispense notifications are sent from within the Workflow module on Apotec CRM. |
DT | NHS Prescription Services produces the Drug Tariff (DT) on a monthly basis on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC). The Drug Tariff outlines what will be paid to pharmacy contractors for NHS services provided either for reimbursement or for remuneration. |

EPS | The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) allows prescribers to send prescriptions electronically to a dispenser of the patient's choice. EPS prescriptions for your nominated patients are downloaded into Apotec CRM for processing within the patient specific Dispensing Wizard or Workflow module. |

NCSO/SSP | Where the Secretary of State has issued a Serious Shortage Protocol (SSP) for a medicine or appliance, you will need to add the NCSO/SSP endorsement when supplying:
Information on products that have been granted an SSP status will be published on the respective country's reimbursement websites. This has replaced the NCSO endorsement. The No Cheaper Stock Obtainable (NSCO) endorsement concerns items where the DH have agreed that a preparation in Part VIIIA or Part VIIIB of the Drug Tariff is in short supply and not available at the fixed Drug Tariff price. You should not endorse NCSO unless you have made all reasonable efforts to obtain the product at the appropriate price but have not succeeded. |
NMS | The New Medicines Service (NMS) is a module in Apotec CRM to help you manage your consultations with patients who are prescribed a medicine to treat a long-term condition for the first time. |

PDS | The Personal Demographics Service (PDS) is the national master database of all NHS patients in England, Wales and the Isle of Man - holding basic patient details such as name, address, date of birth, contact details, registered GP, nominated pharmacy and NHS number. You can perform PDS searches and validation checks within Apotec CRM from the patient details form and patient search panel. |
PI | A Parallel Import (PI) is genuine medicine that has been legally imported from an EU Member State to the UK. The UK parallel import licensing scheme lets a medicine authorised in European Economic Area (EEA) Member State be marketed in the UK, as long as the imported product has no therapeutic difference from the cross-referenced UK product. |
PIP Code | The PIP Code is a unique code allocated to a specific product, along with the description associated to, and describing that product. |
Prescription widget | We have designed a prescription widget (or prescription box) to display all the useful information pertaining to an individual prescription, including the item(s) it contains, the prescription type and the date it was added. You'll find the prescription widgets wherever you are required to select prescriptions for processing, such as in the Dispensing Wizard or within Workflow. |

RTEC | Real Time Exemption Checking (RTEC) allows you to digitally check if your patients have a known exemption that can auto-apply to their EPS prescription. Once an EPS prescription is downloaded in Apotec CRM, an RTEC check is performed by default where possible, and the results are displayed in an RTEC badge on the prescription widget. |

Snackbars | We use snackbars to inform you of a process that Apotec CRM has performed or will perform. They appear temporarily, towards the bottom of the screen. |
SSP | Serious shortage protocols (SSPs) under the Human Medicines Regulations 2012 (HMRs) are an additional tool to manage and mitigate medicines shortages. If the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) decide there is a serious shortage of a specific medicine or appliance, then an SSP may be issued. |
