New Medicine Service (NMS) FAQs

Here are some of our most frequently asked questions about NMS in Apotec CRM.

1. What do the NMS In Progress tab status badges mean?

On the In Progress tab of the NMS Manager, you may see the below badges:

  • Complete: This badge will display against all completed NMS consultations.
  • Pending: This badge will display against all pending NMS consultations.
  • Overdue: This badge will display against all overdue consultations.
2. What do the NMS Completed tab status badges mean?

On the Completed tab of the NMS Manager, you may see the below badges:

  • Complete: This badge will display against all completed NMS consultations.
  • Not Attended: This badge will display against any NMS where the patient has withdrawn consent from the service, could not be contacted or a Follow Up is not required.
  • Stopped: This badge will display against an NMS consultation when all items on the NMS have been marked as Stopped by the Prescriber. Where a single item on a multiple item NMS has been stopped, you can continue with the remaining items to the next stage.
  • Referred: This badge will display against an NMS consultation when a referral option has been selected for all items on the NMS. If only a single item on a multiple item NMS has been referred, you can continue with the remaining items to the next stage.
  • N/A: This badge will display against NMS consultations that were Stopped, Not Attended or Referred during the Intervention stage as your patient will no longer be eligible for a Follow Up consultation.
3. What do the NMS Declined tab statuses mean?

On the Declined tab of the NMS Manager, you may see the below statuses:

  • Not Eligible: Displays for all NMS consultations where items were marked as Not Eligible.
  • Declined: Displays for all records that were marked as Patient Declined.
4. Where can I find additional NMS support and information?

5. If a patient is already receiving the NMS for one medicine and is then prescribed another new eligible medicine, can they start a separate NMS for the second medicine?

Yes, a second NMS can be initiated before the first new medicine is completed.
